Site Description

China Walls is a unique shore dive spot in Honolulu, characterized by a lively ecosystem and its exposed location near the entrance to Koko Marina. This site is celebrated for its abundant marine life, though divers must exercise caution due to the possibility of strong ocean currents and the proximity of an active boat channel, making a dive flag and constant awareness of vessels highly recommended. Some locals suggest that visibility here is tied to tidal cycles, theorizing that water from the marina enclosure is released into the diving area during a falling tide. Note: Fishing after sunset in Maunalua Bay is illegal.
