At Lu’uLive we believe in supporting our local communities both in how we build out our products and company. We know there is so much ‘ike within Hawai’i and we aim to do our best to thoughtfully share that knowledge in order to help others have safe, enjoyable experiences underwater. Did you know that Hawaiʻi’s resident drowning rate is the second highest in the nation—and we’re not talking tourists.
Diving is an inherently dangerous activity, and we want to help divers safely select sites, so they can bring home memories from their underwater adventures. Our understanding of the ocean helps us to become better stewards of it. That’s possible through situational awareness of ocean conditions.
We’re not here to expose secret spots, so we’ve deliberately focused on popular sites. Balancing our goals may be difficult and we may not always get it right but if you notice anything you think we could improve or have thoughts on features we support, drop us a note. We’d love to chat!
‘Aina days
The health of our waters starts from the land. In Hawai’i we know that our activities on land all contribute to the health of our oceans. Picking up plastic on the beach is great, but purchasing less single use plastic is even better. That’s why we regularly volunteer with local groups to restore watersheds, improve our coastline, and keep ourselves educated of various sustainability efforts happening across the islands.
